Isaac Mophatlane to head merged Telkom, BCX business

Following the acquisition of IT services company Business Connexion (BCX) last year, Telkom has confirmed that BCX co-founder and CEO Isaac Mophatlane will lead a newly formed entity, Telkom Business Connexion. The new organisation will see BCX merge with Telkom’s existing Business division.

According to a statement released last night, the firm expects the integration process to take a further 12 months before it’s complete.

Mophatlane founded BCX in 1996 with his late twin brother, Benjamin, to whom he paid tribute in the announcement.

“When my late brother and I started our own IT company nearly 20 years ago,” he said, “We could only dream that it would reach the level of success we currently enjoy. I’m honoured to be at the helm of the newly formed Telkom Business Connexion, and I look forward to working with my partners to grow the success of this business.”

Business Connexion was the first company in Africa to earn a T4 status for its Midrand datacentre, and employs around 7 000 people.
