Humble Bundle, our favourite source of cheap collections of game, has gone way past cool with not one, but two great bundles.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog, there’s a bundle dedicated to the blue ball of speed. Not only does the $10 (R147) tier get you almost all the games playable on Steam, but there’s one above that. For $35 (R515) or more you get all the games and a T-shirt. That is expensive, but the price does include worldwide shipping.

This bundle supports Child’s Play CharitySpecialEffect, U.S. Fund for UNICEF and the World Wildlife Fund.

If you want something for free, you can get a Sonic comic sampler by signing up to the Humble Books Bundle Newsletter near the bottom of the page.

Next up is the Humble NEOGEO Encore Bundle which is supporting the American Red Cross as well as a charity of your choice.

The highlight here, for us anyway, is several titles from the Metal Slug franchise. There’s also games like The King of Fighters and Shock Troopers, but they just don’t hold a candle to the superb side-scrolling shooting goodness that is Metal Slug.

NEOGEO-Humble-Bundle

To end off, let’s look at today’s Nitpick News™. Today’s headline: there are far too many spellings and stylisations of the 1990 Neo Geo system. So far we’ve found: Neo Geo, NEO GEO, Neo・Geo, NEO・GEO, Neo-Geo and NEO-GEO. Can we come together and pick one, please?
