The sequel to Wreck-It Ralph was announced for a March 9th 2018 release yesterday in a Facebook Live video announcement on Disney’s Facebook page
In the video, the director of the original movie, Rich Moore, thanked fans for the support on his previous movie Zootopia, before introducing Phil Johnston. Johnston was a writer on the original Wreck-It Ralph and Zootopia and will be the co-director of this movie.
Work for this sequel started as soon as the original movie had finished.

Also of interest is the promotional art. We see Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz (originally played by Sarah Silverman) among “the internet”. What’s funny is that they chose not to acquire the rights to famous sites, instead replacing them with off-brand names. Google is “Gügle”, Amazon is “Amazing”, Wikipedia is “Pictopedia” and so on.

We wonder if this sequel is going to tackle some of the darker things on the internet, or even the more adult aspects such as porn. You may say they won’t because it’s a kids’ animated feature. To that we say: “Have you ever watched Ren & Stimpy?”.
