UberEATS is launching in South Africa pretty soon

UberEATS, the taxi-hailing app’s food delivery service, will be launching in South Africa pretty soon – if recent job postings are anything to go by.

On its official website, there are postings for a number of positions, such as a General Manager, Marketing Manager and Courier Operations Manager, for Johannesburg and Cape Town. Job listings for other European and Middle Eastern cities are also available.

“As the General Manager for UberEATS, you will be in charge of scaling and developing our food platform in your city. This is an intense business-side startup role, and you will have direct responsibility for the growth of the UberEATS business,” the listing reads.

But what exactly is UberEATS? Well, as we mentioned, it is Uber’s food delivery service. You order food through the platform, and the service delivers it directly to your door.

“Get the food you want, from the local restaurants you love, delivered at Uber speed. In the coming months, we plan to launch UberEATS across more cities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa – and we’re looking for top talent to build the business,” the website explains.

With the job listings for Johannesburg and Cape Town, it is safe to say that the service will look at being operational in the coming months – or even sooner.

If you think that you might have what it takes to join Uber’s team, just head on over to the website to view the application process.
