Watch the first 20 minutes of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was recently pushed back to an August release, leaving many fans (us included) clamouring to play the game. Luckily, GameSpot has us covered.

The site has a video of the first 20 minutes of gameplay for us to enjoy.

Before we go any further, it’s worth nothing that we will cross into spoiler territory. While spoilers usually ruin the end of a piece of media, this will ruin the first.

If that’s okay with you, let’s go on.

We start the game in a helicopter with returning protagonist Adam Jensen. It seems that Jensen has continued his diet of cigarettes, whiskey and gravel, because he still sounds like Batman with a sore throat.

Anyway, it seems Jensen has moved from private security to some kind of organised military as he’s been roped into stopping an arms dealer named Shepard from completing a transaction of augmented limbs and arms (see what we did there?).

Before being sent in lone wolf style, the player can choose between going in silent and stealthy or going loud. From there they choose a weapon and get dropped in to do a superhero landing.

It all looks familiar to Deus Ex: Human Revolution, albeit with better looking graphics and a host of new mechanics. It’s very sequel-ly, so don’t come in expecting the game to have a massive tonal or mechanical shift.
