South Africa is seven hours into the 2016 Municipal Elections and as the most hotly local elections since the dawn of democracy, many will be eager to know the results from across the country as they come in.
There are a few apps and sites you can use to track the results as they will be released starting from tonight after 7pm when voting stations close.
We’ve rounded four below.
News24 is running its usual Elections portal, where you can track results, read news stories, photos, videos and results from previous elections.
The Times Media Group, which runs papers such as the Sunday Times, also has a portal, which you can view from, a PC or mobile.
Here, you can also view stats from all contested municipalities and find your voting station, should you still not know where it is and want to vote.
With the IEC’s official mobile apps, you can share key election moments on social media, view your candidates, set your notification preferences for results, view news and information on the election processes, as they happen, view the IEC’s contact information and address and report a voting station issue.
And finally, the public broadcaster has put together a top notch reporting system giving the public access to same tools as it’s journalists. Check it out here, and read our behind the scenes report here.
