Geekulcha Developer Hackathon is happening this September

Our friends at Geekulcha are back this September for the Northern Cape Developer Hackathon (NCDevHack), which may be the biggest event of its kind in the region.

Organiser, and friend of the site, Tiyani Nghonyama explains what it’s all about:

Northern Cape Developer Hackathon (NCDevHack) is an annual provincial hackathon aimed at stimulating and developing more ICT/Entrepreneurship in the province. The hackathon is championed and hosted by the Department of Economic Development and Tourism and Geekulcha. 2016 edition of NCDevHack will be set to attract a large number of entrepreneurs in the small business. Spear-headed by the Geekulcha Student Society (GKSS) team, NCDevHack will also be against the backdrop of youth skills development, employment exposure and women empowerment.

The theme for this year is “Our Future Through Innovation” which will focus on using technology as “enabler in all the sectors of economy”.

This event also forms part of the Northern Cape Developer (NCDev) Ecosystem which is aiming to form a community around makers in the area.

Attendance is free for both those taking part and those only wanting to watch. If you’d like to do either, check out the details below and make sure you book yourself a place.
