Here’s a taste of what’s on at A MAZE. / Johannesburg 2016

The A MAZE. / Johannesburg 2016 festival kicked off in Braamfontein last night.

Over the next two days South African and international game developers and gamers will descend on the Tshimologong Precinct for a celebration of digital creativity. Not a bad day at the office really.

While the main exhibition will be taking place at Tshimologong Founders Square, a number of workshops will be held at the DIZ.

The game exhibition kicks off this evening and runs until 21:00 except today when it will run until 01:00am. If you can’t make it today don’t fret because the exhibition runs until 3rd September.

So if you can sneak away from the office for a few moments today or tomorrow we highly recommend coming down to Braamfontein in Johannesburg and checking out some games. Entrance is free and the coffee on sale is incredible.

Teams from all around the world have brought their games to Braamfontein for the festival.

Games span multiple platforms including the HTC Vive.

Nestled among PC towers and cables we found this little guy.

Some of these game names alone will make you grin.

We’re really interested to see what this is about. Big screen, webcam, we simply must kow more abotu this.

The PCs running some of the games run on beastly machines, others on slim computers that wouldn’t look out of place in an office, the gear inside seems to mostly be from ASUS tough.

Our French is a bit rusty but that webcam game seems to be about rectangles.

Even the headphones are from ASUS. And you thought indie games were small business.

Who says PC and console gamers can’t work together?

You can bet your bottom dollar we’re testing this out.
