Helen Zille’s official autobiography available for pre-order online

Hate her or love her, former DA leader and current Western Cape Premier, Helen Zille, is one of South Africa’s most interesting politicians.

Apart from her role in exposing the real cause behind Black Consciousness leader, Steve Biko’s death, her years as the leader of the opposition party and her public Twitter spats with other famous South Africans have kept her in the spotlight for many years.

If you’re interested, you can now find out the story behind what some people have called South Africa’s own Margaret Thatcher, in her soon-to-be-released autobiography titled, “Not Without a Fight”.

Zille today announced the book is now available for pre-order online on Loot.

The book’s description reads as follows:

Zille takes the reader back to her humble family origins, her early career as a journalist at the Rand Daily Mail, where she wrote the story exposing Steve Biko’s murder, and her involvement with the End Conscription Campaign and the Black Sash.

She documents her journey through the ranks of the Democratic Party and the Democratic Alliance, and recalls her experiences as leader of the DA, mayor of Cape Town and premier of the Western Cape. In the process she speaks frankly about colleagues and opponents, and reveals fascinating insights about what happened behind the political scenes. Readers will also meet a Helen Zille they did not know: a warm person, a devoted mother, and someone with an earthy sense of humour.

The book costs R249 on pre-order and will be released on 3rd October. The normal price is set at R380.
