Thousands of hackers and makers coming to MakerCon 2016 this October in Durban

South Africa is getting yet another wonderful maker fair at the end of this month in the form of MakerCon 2016.

Organised by the fine fellows at The MakerSpace, this fair is promising 4 000 people visiting the 40 exhibitors who are showing off drones, 3d prints, arts & crafts and just about anything you can think of.

And, unlike kids in highschool who write “etc” when they can’t think of more items on a list, we really do mean anything you can think of. Check out this recap video of 2015’s event and then keep scrolling for an article written by the organiser retelling the events and the details for this year.

Finally, for those who want to get their hands dirty, it seems like there is going to be a hackathon taking place on the Saturday. There are two special ticket options for this: R100 to enter the hackathon where you  bring your own components, and R400 where they will provide you with an Arduino and sundry items. Both of these options get you entrance into the event.
