Watch the first The Dark Tower trailer before it gets pulled (again)

The film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower has generated a lot of buzz since it was first announced a while back.

But other than some production stills, we haven’t seen any else that could give an indication of what the film, which stars Idris Elba, will be like – until know.

We are sure that someone in Sony’s Taiwanese office is going to get into trouble over this, but the first trailer for the film has leaked online. It is a very rough cut with some special effects clearly missing, but it paints a good enough picture of what the final film may look like.

Sony has in the meantime pulled the trailer that was uploaded to YouTube, but as with all things that go online, this trailer has yet to be eradicated from the digital space. We managed to track down a copy on YouTube, and that can be viewed below.

But you have to hurry, as we are very positive that the clip below won’t stay on the channel for much longer.

The clip focuses on Jake Chambers, the boy pulled from our world into Mid-World in King’s novel The Gunslinger.

According to The Verge, “the book is from Roland’s perspective and focuses on his quest, but the trailer makes it look like the movie is far more about Jake’s life before Mid-World, the images of the Dark Tower that flash in his mind, and his transition out of the world.”

The trailer is also lent a rather haunting atmosphere by a cover of The Who’s ‘Behind Blue Eyes’. If anyone knows who is responsible for this version, please let us know in the comments below, because it’s awesome.
