Gauteng Education to help parents struggling with online applications

Some parents of children due to start primary or high school in 2017 are still struggling with the online registration systems, but those  n the Sedibeng East, Sedibeng West and Gauteng West Dictricts who are still having problems will be getting help this weekend.

The Gauteng Department of Education has said it will be setting up a helpdesk in the area on Saturday, to help parents who’ve applied for their kids going to grades one and/or eight next year, but have not received a response from the schools they applied at.

Applications for the two grades have been done completely online for the first time this year and the deadline for the placement of kids whose parents applied on time was passed last month.

However, only half of the parents who applied before deadline have accepted offers for placement, while others are yet to receive offers.

Parents who applied after the deadline are in the process of receiving placement offers, while those who still haven’t applied, have until November to do so.

This weekend’s helpdesk will be at Paardekraal Primary School in Krugersdorp, Emfuleni Park Primary School in Vanderbijlpark and General Smuts High School in Vereeninging on Saturday 15th October 2016 from 9am to 4pm.

For any queries, call the department on 011 355 0637 or 011 843 6796.
