Nintendo Switch lands March 2017

Nintendo has finally announced the follow up to the Wii U, the Switch and it appears, according to the firm, that the console will launch as soon as March 2017.

The Switch rests on a dock and can be removed and converted into a handheld console. When in handheld mode Joy Con controllers attach to either side of the Switch console and can be used by one or two players.

In addition to this, Nintendo has said that multiple controllers can be linked to one Switch to enhance the multiplayer experience. What’s more is that the Switch will allow multiple Switch consoles to connect to each other so everybody can play a multiplayer game, on their own console, face-to-face. We have to admit, that’s pretty cool.

“With this first look at Nintendo Switch, I hope fans are already imagining the possibilities of having the freedom to play when, where, and how they want to,” Nintendo Europe president, Satoru Shibata said in a statement.

On the back of the reveal, Nintendo has announced a large number of publishers and developers that will support the Switch including FromSoftware, Epic Games, Ubisoft, Telltale Games, Square Enix and a others.

Nintendo has said that it will reveal game demos, titles and an exact launch date prior to the March launch.
