Gauteng Education urges parents to accept online school placement offers

The Gauteng Department of Education has urged parents who applied for their kids going to grades one or eight in 2017 and haven’t accepted a placement offer, to do so quickly.

According to the department, over 5 000 parents and guardians who applied before the 1st June deadline, are yet to accept offers from schools they applied at, and this is delaying the placement process.

Parents have until tomorrow, 4th November, to accept offers or risk losing the offers to other parents who are on the waiting list.

In the meantime, placement of learners is still on track and the department has assured parents and guardians who applied on time, that their children will be placed.

Parents in the Ekurhuleni municipality who are yet to apply, are invited to an open day, where they will receive assistance.

The open day will be hosted on Saturday, 5th November between 09:00 and 16:00 at the following suggested venues:

Ekurhuleni North:

Boitumelong Secondary School,

216 Mimas Street

Sedibeng Section

Gauteng East

Hoër Skool Tegniese Springs

1 Witweg/Witroad, Lodeyko,

Springs

Parents in other areas can visit their respective District Offices, where they will receive the necessary assistance.
