[Press release] AFRICAN Fintech LAUNCHES NEW OFFERINGS AT THIS YEAR’S WEBSUMMIT

Ahead of its European debut at the WebSummit in Lisbon in November, innovative African Fintech, ThisIsMe, which specialises in Identity Verification, has announced a number of exciting new service offerings, from voice and facial recognition technology, to utilising blockchain to safeguard our online identities.

ThisIsMe Chief Executive, Mark Chirnside says, “ThisIsMe is the first of its kind in the market, as it combines the latest in Identity Verification technologies with a privacy compliant, consumer-centric offering, that is bound to spark the interest of others in the global industry, as well as potential investors who share our vision,” he says.

Having experienced great traction in the South African financial services and banking sectors, ThisisMe’s recently added offerings include: voice recognition, facial recognition, social media credibility scoring, automated onboarding and a recently announced blockchain development.

Chirnside says, “There have been really exciting developments in terms of identity security and verification and given the constant changes in technology and popular social media platforms, there are always problems to solve and new avenues to pursue.”

“Our voice recognition technology will enable users to record and use their voice for authentication and verification checks, making the process less complicated and login portals simpler, safer and faster to use.”

“Likewise, utilising our facial recognition service will allow for faster, more seamless on-boarding with something as simple as a ‘selfie’, which will then be verified against your identity document for a facial recognition match, then further checked against data sources so you cannot use a fake ID” he explains.

Another notable innovation, ThisIsMe’s social networking verification is a service which is likely to be a game changer for lenders in regions where the majority of residents are unbanked – opening up a whole new market of clients. This technology, according to Chirnside, enables ThisIsMe to provide a credibility score for people who are unbanked, those who are under 25 years old and don’t necessarily have a credit score, and those who are over 45 years old and are decreasing credit use.

Continuing to provide financial services companies, banks, and other businesses with a greater ability to prevent digital fraud, ThisIsMe’s ‘Instant KYC process’ will result in automatic KYC checking abilities for clients. “It will be as simple as pulling all the relevant data, checking it, and ensuring that it is compliant – a process that can take days, now completed within seconds.”

“We are excited to be launching all of these additional features at this year’s WebSummit in Lisbon,” Chirnside concludes.
