Where to track US #Election2016 live results online in SA

Tomorrow will be the biggest day on the US (and possibly even the world) calendar as Americans go to the polls to choose the man or woman who will succeed Barack Obama as President of the United States (POTUS).

No doubt, this will be as historical an election as Obama’s election to the presidency in 2008 and 2012, as both current candidates will make history in their own way.

Hillary Clinton could become the first female and former first lady to become President, while Donald Trump could become the first president with virtually no political credentials, to win.

The election take place tomorrow, from 6am to 9pm US time (opening and closing times depend on time zones), where an estimated 120 million people will head to the polls.

Polls will begin closing at 1am our time on Wednesday and we’re expected to get a clear picture of who leads by around 5am on the same day.

The winner will have to have secured a minimum of 270 electoral votes from 538 members of the electoral college to become the 45th POTUS.

If you won’t be able to wait for news to tell you who is in the lead, you can track the live results online.

Politico has a great live tracker, which will show you results from all 50 states across the US as they come in.
