GoPro is recalling its Karma drone

GoPro’s latest gadget, the Karma drone appears to have some power troubles and the firm is recalling the product as a result.

The recall comes after GoPro discovered a small number of drones losing power during operation. The firm has decided to issue a recall of the drone and customers will be given a full refund rather than a replacement.

“We are recalling all Karma units and providing a full refund.  We are investigating the issue and plan to make Karma available once it has been resolved,” said the firm on its website.

Despite the problem being tied to the drone itself, customers who bought a Karma bundle, which includes the GoPro Hero 5 Black and the Karma Grip, will need to return those items as well to qualify for the refund. GoPro has also said that even if your drone appears to be fine it still needs to be returned.

While we haven’t seen the Karma on sale officially in South Africa we’re well aware that people can import gadgets, so if you happen to have a Karma we advise you to contact GoPro and ask about the course of action you need to take.

Once again, the recall does not affect the GoPro Hero 5 or the Karma Grip, only the Karma drone.
