Battlefield 1 is getting local servers

If you’re one of the many folk who have been enjoying Battlefield 1’s admittedly excellent multiplayer since its release, we have some good news for you.

The game’s developer, DICE, has just announced that its decided to deploy local servers for three new regions – and South Africa is on the list.

In a forum post over on the Battlefield website, DICE Live Producer, Alexander “Striterax” Hassoon, has revealed the regions that can expect local multiplayer servers in early 2017.

Hassoon wrote:

“I am very happy to announce that we will be deploying official DICE online game servers for the following regions in early 2017:

South Africa
Middle East
Hong Kong

These are but the first steps in our ongoing effort to keep supporting Battlefield 1 and our community.

Thank you very much for your feedback, we are listening.”

Pity it’s not in time for the forthcoming holiday season, but there you go. Lock ‘n load for next year, people.
