Mark your calendars, AMD is showing off Zen later this month

After a year of speculation and teasing, AMD will finally give PC builders a taste of what they can expect from its Zen CPUs.

News about the latest processors manufactured on the 14nm FinFET process has been hard to come by aside from rumours and the odd tidbit from AMD. In August AMD showed off it’s Summit Ridge processor (eight cores / 16 threads) beating out a Intel Broadwell-E processor which was configured in the same way in a multi-threaded Blender benchmark.

The processor has also been shown running Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and DOOM at UHD resolutions.

Sadly none of those contained all the tasty numbers that PC builders are so fond of salivating over but come 13th December we just might.

Team Red announced this week that it would be giving the public an advance preview of the Zen CPU ahead of its 2017 launch.

The New Horizon event will be hosted by video game journalist Geoff Keighley and according to Forbes the event will be live streamed on AMD’s Twitch channel.

From the notice on AMD’s website it appears as if the event will show off the CPU’s gaming chops and member of esports team Evil Geniuses, Peter “PPD” Dager will be on hand to put Zen through its paces.

The livestream kicks off at 11pm on 13th December and you can visit AMD’s website to sign up to watch it.
