Razer’s next crazy concept is a triple display notebook

Peripheral and notebook manufacturer Razer has a habit of coming up with crazy concept products for April Fool’s Day, but Project Valerie looks a bit more, well real.

The concept this time around is a notebook that has three slide out UHD (3 840x 2 160) displays, two of which slide out from behind the main centre display to create a 11 520 x 2160 display.

Explaining it doesn’t really do this concept justice we’ll let you see it for yourself.

Razer is showing off this concept at CES 2017 and we have to say, it’s interesting to say the least.

According to the firm the displays would be driven by an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 and an automated deployment system would turn one display into three displays in “a matter of seconds.”

The firm also claims that Valerie wouldn’t be much larger than the average 17inch notebook.

Before we get too excited though this is a concept and much like Project Christine, it might never see the light of day. With that having been said we’re not quite sure who this notebook would be best suited for. While we do love multi-display setups we can’t quite picture ourselves sitting down for coffee in Braamfontein and feeling the need to see our work spread across three displays.

There is however no denying that Project Valerie is cool, and we wouldn’t say no to Razer chief executive officer Min-Liang Tan if he offered us one to play around with (hint, hint).

If you’d like to take a look at Valerie more closely, Linus Sebastian from Linus Tech Tips had a hands-on with it at CES 2017, which you can check out below.
