Shia LaBeouf is streaming a four year long Trump protest

Actor, artist and bonkers press fodder Shia LaBeouf is live streaming a protest that he plans to keep going throughout President Donald Trump’s term in office.

The livestream forms part of a project called He Will Not Divide Us, the premise of which is incredibly simply and tremendously engaging.

Outside the Museum of the Moving Image in New York a camera has been mounted where members of the public can repeat the words “he will not divide us” for as long as they like and as many times as they like. What’s more is the livestream will run 24 hours a day, every day, for four years.

The livestream has been running since 20th January and you can tune in at any time by visiting the He Will Not Divide Us website.

The protest, which has seen people quietly repeating the phrase, singing it in a style reminiscent of early blues music, and shouting it as some sort of battlecry has also drawn opposition.

The most notable instance of this is when a white supremacist approached the camera and muttered, “1488” – a slogan adopted by white supremacists.

As you can see from the video above, LaBeouf did not take kindly to this and proceeded to shout down the supremacist.

In a more heartwarming incident a protester who had been standing outside for hours in the rain and cold repeating the phrase was joined by another.

If like us this entire event intrigues you but you can’t watch the stream (it’s currently silent as it is only approaching 4am in New York) you can follow the official He Will Not Divide Us account on Twitter and check for tweets with the hashtag #HeWillNotDivideUs.
