You can use WoW Tokens to buy Hearthstone card packs

Good news for folks with a penchant for Blizzard games, you can now use World of Warcraft Tokens to add funds to your Battle.net account.

For those of you who have never played WoW, here’s a primer on what Tokens are.

Players are able to spend real money on WoW Tokens. These tokens can be exchanged for game time in the MMO or sold in the game’s official Auction House for gold.

The tokens are a way for players to legitimately get in-game gold, though there are other means via third parties.

Blizzard has announced that now WoW players can exchange these tokens not just for game time in WoW, or be gifted to a friend, but can now add funds to their Battle.net account. A blog post from Blizz reads:

Buying a Token is simple: just visit the Auction House and use your hard-earned gold to purchase one of the WoW Tokens put up for sale. Once the Token arrives in your in-game mailbox, right-click it to add it to your bag, then right-click it in your inventory. You’ll then be able to choose whether to add 30 days of game time or add Battle.net Balance ($15 USD; currency and amount varies by region) to your Battle.net account.

You read that correctly. You can now use all that gold you’ve grinded for over the years to fuel your new Hearthstone fascination as long as you aren’t trying to buy packs/adventures on a mobile device.

This is because the mobile version of Hearthstone uses the App Store or Google Play to facilitate in-app purchases rather than Battle.net.

Sadly you won’t be able to use these funds to buy a dashing new hoodie in the Blizzard Gear Store either.

If Hearthstone isn’t your bag, you can use the funds to make purchases in Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch, StarCraft2 and Diablo 3.

Tokens do not expire and whether you’ve been sitting on a Token for sometime or purchase one now you will be able to capitalise on this offer.

All you need to do is open your inventory which contains a Token and right-click it and select whether you want to convert into 30-days of game time or $15 (or the equivalent currency) in Battle.net funds.
