Fancy your Chanseys and Celebrate Valentines Day with Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go’s latest event is live and it celebrates Valentine’s Day by encouraging you to grab your valentine, get out and go explore the world.

Niantic Labs have announced that the celebratory event, which is already live in-game, will run up until 11:00 A.M. PST February 15, 2017. (9pm February 15, 2017 for us South African folk)

The event will allow players to encounter numerous pink Pokemon such as Chansey, Clefable, and Jigglypuff at higher frequency rates than normal. Additionally, players will be more likely to hatch Cleffa, Igglybuff or Smoochum when placing any newly acquired eggs into an incubator. Cleffas and Igglybuffs can be found in 2km eggs while Smoochums appear in 10km eggs.

Other game features such as candy acquistion rates and the duration of the Lure Module have also been altered. Players partner Pokemon will find candy at double the normal rate and all placed Lure Modules will last for a total of 6 hours instead of the usual 30 minutes.
