Startups based in South Africa and Southern Africa have until 24 February to apply to be part of Launchpad Start Johannesburg.
The one week problem-solving bootcamp for early stage startups will take place with partner JoziHub from 27 to 31 March 2017. A total of 20 startups will be selected to be part of this intense, immersive and exciting initiative that takes place at JoziHub.
Google Developers Launchpad Start focuses on different subjects including product strategy, UX and UI, technology, marketing, business development and presentation skills. Each day is dedicated to a specific subject and includes presentations, one-on-one mentorship and a significant amount of focused technical work.
The mentorship aspect of Google Developers Launchpad Start is integral to its aim to achieve rapid progress in a very short time for participating startups.
Drawing on the extensive experience of mentors – selected by the programme’s Head Mentors and a team of Googlers – startups will be exposed to the fields of Product Strategy, UX/ UI, Technology and Marketing as well as Pitching, Finance or VC through one-on-one sessions.
There is no fee for startups chosen to be part of Launchpad Start Johannesburg and Google will provide travel support for the startups coming from out of town for the event. Launchpad Start Johannesburg follows the successful Launchpad Start Nairobi bootcamp which took place late in November 2016.
