AMD has revealed that, after what seems like an eternity of waiting, Ryzen will be available on 2nd March.
Being at the southern most tip of Africa this usually means local PC builders have to wait sometime before the tech reaches us, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
A number of online retailers have begun listing the pricing of AMD’s latest CPUs. It’s worth noting that these processors are currently available for pre-order and buyers should receive receive them on release day.

Titan Ice seems to have the best price for the top of the range 1800x but it’s worth shopping around as we get closer to release day.
This series is being hailed as AMD’s return to the enthusiast market. Both the Ryzen 7 1800x and 1700x feature something AMD calls Extended Frequency Range. This nifty little inclusion allows the CPU to essentially overclock itself given enough thermal headroom.
How effective this feature will be remains to be seen, but with the release just one week away we won’t have to wait long.
