Create accessories for the Nintendo Switch to win the console or a 3D printer

After their recent Monster Hunter contest, design sharing site MyMiniFactory is back with a competition focused on the new Nintendo Switch.

Entrants are tasked with improving Nintendo’s own design or making the console easier to use. As the contest page reads:

The Nintendo Switch is an awesome piece of new technology which morphs into many different modes to suit your playstyle. There’s a kickstand in the back if you’re playing on the move, the two joy-con controllers operate independently from one another so you can even play with a friend.

There is a ton of potential to design accessories around this console, as many have started doing already.

We want you to download the 1:1 scale Nintendo Switch template and use your creativity and ingenuity to design a single or a range of 3D printable Nintendo Switch addon’s / accessories which will aid comfort, customisability or functionality.

As mentioned in the descriptor, the maker community has already been hard at work, as many of these accessories were created before the Switch even launched. We featured a load of great ones on the site recently and many more have popped up since.

First prize for the contest is a Nintendo Switch in the colour of your choice, with second and third walking away with a Startt 3D printer each.

Submissions for the contest close on April 8th 2017 with the winners to be announced soon after that.

Make sure you keep checking back to makers.htxt where we’ll have coverage on this event including our top picks as well as the results.
