Tomorrow may see one of the biggest collective marches and shutdowns across the country since #FeesMustFall. That is, if South Africans really go beyond social media posts and make good on promises to join the DA’s #MarchForChange.

The PeoplesMarch was organised by the DA around the time Pravin Gordhan was fired as Finance Minister by President Jacob Zuma. The downgrading of South Africa’s economy to junk status by ratings agency S&P further exacerbated the situation.

The march was originally supposed to head to the ANC’s headquarters in the Joburg city centre, but after threats of violence, was moved to Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown.

The march kicks off at 10am.
