Hello and welcome back to the the htxt.africast where myself, Brendyn and Lungelo have a quick chat about some interesting things going on with the world and the internet.
I start us off with explaining what Imgur is and why its community is such a tough nut to crack, acting as an introduction to an interview I recently did with a power user that has managed to become something of a celebrity.
I also mention the Twitter account for the American restaurant chain Wendy’s and it’s bold strategy (Cotton) to draw people into its business.
Lungelo then tells us about a strange happening in India involving the IM app WhatsApp and fake news, which could land some users in jail. We also have an argument a spirited debate over fake news and what regular people should be doing about it.
