[Update at 1:30pm: The R3 sale is officially sold out]

FlySafair is back again with its dirt cheap flight ticket sale. This time around you can get your hands on a domestic ticket for as little as R3 – if you can actually get through to the booking portal.

The campaign is an annual sale FlySafair does for customers, but every single time in the past, the site has crashed, leaving people very frustrated.

With the R3 sale, 15 000 tickets to select destinations are available. Your flight has to be between 15th May and 31st August. Only a certain amount of randomly chosen customers will be allowed onto the booking portal per time, so if you find yourself in the waiting room well…, you’ll just have to wait.

The waiting period is supposed last every five minutes and you have to stay in the waiting room, otherwise, you get booted to the back.

Once you’re allowed in, use the low fare finder to find the R3 prices.

So far, the site seems to be holding up fine from what we can tell and tweets from those trying to get the tickets indicate as much as well.
