We’ve seen teasers. We’ve seen stills. We’ve seen behind-the-scenes pictures of actors standing in the cold. But we haven’t see a full fat trailer for the seventh season of Game Of Thrones.

That is, until now, as HBO saw fit to drop the beauty below last night. Have a gander all ye GoT fans!

Pulled your jaws off the floor yet? Right then, let’s unpack all that!

Well…, there’s not really a hell of a lot to unpack is there? Fans of this show will know that the Lannisters at King’s Landing are pretty much the centre point where four hurricanes of violence are headed and God knows they’ve done enough to earn the ire of their enemies.

Daenerys Targaryen, her dragons, the Dothraki and the Unsullied are charging in from the east, while the current rulers of Dorn are heading up from the south to avenge Prince Martel.

In the north Jon Snow and the Night’s Watch are torn between revenge on the Lannisters and the need to protect the Seven Kingdoms from the White Walkers and their army of the undead.

In short, it looks like courtly intrigue may take a back seat to blood and steel and, since this is the last season, we may see Cersei Lannister get her comeuppance. Then again, since this is Game Of Thrones, a TV show that doesn’t give a stuff about either the notion of karma or the desires of its audience, maybe we won’t.

The new season is set to air on HBO on July 16th. Gird your loins, people, because winter war is coming!
