MTN Donates R1.5 million to #KnysnaFire relief efforts

Local telecoms company MTN has contributed to helping those affected by the fires in Knysna which started this Tuesday. The company has allocated R1.5 million to fund relief efforts.

The provisions deemed essential for these funds to be used on include blankets, food parcels and water to assist people in need.

In line with the business they are in, it as also sent 14 engineers to help restore communications in the damaged areas. On top of this, they are currently attempting to zero-rate certain emergency numbers to make potentially life-saving calls free.

MTN joins the growing list of companies contributing to those affected. Shoprite-Checkers , Game, Makro, Woolworths , OUTsurance, Discovery, kulula and more have given already, not counting the individuals and SME doing the same.
