Siltbreaker – the first Dota 2 campaign with a story – is out now

As part of The International 2017 Battle Pass, Dota fans were promised a co-op campaign that would be released at some point in May. Staying true to the concept of Valve Time, the campaign was released early this morning.

Named Siltbreaker, the new game mode sees four players take control of Dota heroes as they embark on a quest to find Siltbreaker’s creation – Rhyzik the Corrupter.

Players will then move through a map killing off neutral creeps monsters in a number of zones until they reach Rhyzik.

So what is the point of this campaign? Well aside from this being the first story based content Valve has produced for Dota 2, players can also earn Battle Pass points to get them closer to that Io Arcana Valve revealed in May.

But that’s not all players can get.

If you manage to get a performance rating of three stars you will get a Siltbreaker Treasure which may contain the “indescribably-rare Immortal Desert Sands Baby Roshan courier” upon opening it.

Mommy Roshan is not going to be happy with all that sand…

It’s unclear whether Dota 2 players will be able to list the courier on the Steam Market at time of writing.

Those with a Battle Pass level of 165 or higher will receive double the treasure should they get a three-star rating.

Of course you will need to have a TI7 Battle Pass to play Siltbreaker which costs R139 and 25% of your purchase is added to the prize pool for the tournament which currently sits at over $14 million.
