The interim SABC board today fired the controversial Hlaudi Motsoeneng after receiving recommendations from the chair of the disciplinary hearing held on his actions.
Acting board chairperson, Khanyisile Kweyama announced this today during a briefing on the board’s decision after Motsoeneng was found guilty of bringing the SABC into disrepute during a four-hour long press conference in April.
According to Kweyama, Motsoeneng has been informed of his dismissal. Motsoeneng has not yet indicated whether or not he will be fighting the dismissal.
Although he was barred from holding any position at the SABC, Motsoeneng was still reportedly earning a high salary based on his previous position as GE of Corporate Affairs.
This is a developing story.
