ZACR has announced that the general public can apply for .Africa (dotAfrica) geographic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) from today.

This stage follow the Sunrise Phase and Landrush Phase, in which trademark owners and businesses and those registering premium domains under the .Africa gTLD could sign up. According to ZACR, those phases saw rather a lot of entities and individuals move quickly to snap up online real estate.

Today anyone can register for a .Africa gTLD and applications are on a first-come-first-served basis, so if you’re in the market for a dotAfrica domain, we suggest you get cracking.

“The long wait to General Availability has now come to an end. Africa’s new home on the Internet is now available for occupation,” announced ZACR’s Lucky Masilela.

Anyone who wants to register a .Africa domain can head over to this list of registrars. Happy hunting!
