Today’s edition of the htxt.africast is a rather special one because we’re talking about a piece of legislature that could have an impact on all of us.
Please, curb your enthusiasm.
The Cybercrimes and Cybersecurity bill is currently sitting before parliament and the Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services has issued a call for public input.
Before you click away as you hurry to stifle a yawn, this bill – in its current form – could make whistleblowers criminals and those clever little memes you’re making about the Guptas could land you in prison.
It’s serious business so we’ve called on Nick Hall an Associate at Michaelsons attorneys to give us an idea of some of the problems with the bill and how you at home can make your voice heard.
This edition of the htxt.africast is a bit longer than usual as we have a lot to cover so make yourself a cup of coffee and settle in. There is good news and cause for hope, we promise.
