Acting SABC CEO James Aguma agrees to resign

The acting chief executive officer at the SABC, James Aguma has agreed to resign from his position with immediate effect.

The now former acting CEO of the SABC was attending a disciplinary hearing where he stood accused of providing false information while under oath during disciplinary proceedings against Hlaudi Motsoeneng.

That hearing has now been terminated following Aguma’s decision to resign according to a report by EWN.

Aguma was also accused of wasteful expenditure and tender irregularities during his stint as acting CEO.

After being suspended in May Aguma has agreed to submit his resignation by 1pm this afternoon.

The SABC is currently headed by Tsheliso Ralitabo who served as acting, acting CEO during Aguma’s suspension.
