Images of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 have appeared online ahead of the 23rd August reveal and surprise surprise, it looks almost identical to the Galaxy S8+.

The images appeared online thanks to Venturebeat mobile reporter Evan Blass who at first had just an image of the face of the smartphone but tweeted out an image of its rear about an hour ago.

We tease Samsung but honestly, how much can you really play with a smartphone’s form factor before you alienate the masses.

The image reveals a dual camera configuration and the same poorly placed fingerprint scanner. Oh and it has a stylus we suppose, so there’s that unique identifier.

The handset looks to sport the same Infinity Display as the S8 and S8+ did but details regarding its native resolution and whether it supports HDR are not available at time of writing.

Truth be told we are quite excited to get our hands on a new Note handset seeing as the last one that was available was the Note 5.

We’ll have more details about the Note 8 when Samsung unveils it in New York later this month.

In the meantime let’s hope this handset’s release is explosive in the figurative sense.
