[UPDATED] Telkom announces Uncapped Business Internet packages with free voice calls

Last week Telkom announced Unlimited Home Internet packages which touted free Telkom to Telkom calls and now businesses can get a similar offer.

The telco has today announced Uncapped Business Internet plans which include not only uncapped data (as the name would suggest) but also unlimited Telkom to Telkom calls for both fixed line and mobile numbers.

If that wasn’t enough of a temptation calls to numbers outside of Telkom’s network will be charge at a rate of R0.50c and calls to select international destinations will be charged at R0.79c. Whether this call rate is charged per minute or per second is unclear but we’ve asked Telkom to clarify and will update this story when we get a response.

Telkom has told us that these off-rate call charges will be billed per second.

Customers that take up an Uncapped Business Internet package will also recieve CallAnswer, IdentiCall and WaitingCall services free of charge along with a DSL/Fibre router.

For businesses that have roaming employees Telkom will also throw in up to 3GB of free mobile data and a 3G dongle.

“Unlimited Business extends our commitment of affordability to established and emerging businesse,” chief executive officer of Telkom’s consumer arm Attila Vitai said in a statement.

Uncapped Business Internet Plans
DSL/Fibre speed Free inclusive Mobile Data Price per month
4Mbps 1GB R799
8Mbps 2GB R899
10Mbps 2GB R999
20Mbps 3GB R1 099
40Mbps 3GB R1 399
100Mbps 3GB R1 799

The firm also noted that business who have been on the 2Mbps package until now will be bumped up to 4Mbps (which is the new entry level) though take note, you will be paying an extra R1 per month. Not bad when you consider you’re getting twice the speed.

As is the norm with Telkom Business packages, customers will get day-time priority on the network as well as prioritised support.

“We are at the forefront of reducing communication costs and Telkom has taken another big step to expand access together with high-speed internet which will contribute to sustainability of businesses, foster economic growth and job creation,” Vitai concluded.

UPDATE: Telkom has told us that the off-net calls and calls to select international locations will be charged at R0.50c and R0.79c per second respectively.
