3D print the Nintendo 3DS XL at a tiny scale

In a confusing twist of words, the Nintendo 3DS XL has been 3D printed to be extra small.

This is the work of Dave Nunez, who goes by “Rabbit Engineering” online. Aside from creating bespoke desktop arcade machines, he has a history of 3D printing iconic electronics as small as he can.

We’ve covered his previous attempts with the Nintendo Switch and the PC from the movie WarGames.

The version of the 3DS XL you see in the gallery below is only 1.5 inches (38.1mm) wide and retains the ability to open and close thanks to a hinge made from a length of paperclip.

You can print your own with the files from Thingiverse or order a finished unit for $8.50 from Nunez’s Etsy store.
