HBO hackers continue to leak material

The hackers behind the HBO hack continue to give the network a colossal headache.

Following reports that HBO had received demands for money to prevent more material being leaked online, it seems the hackers have made good on their threat.

Reports have emerged that episodes of Ballers, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Insecure have been leaked ahead of their airing dates. This comes after the news that a script for an unaired Game Of Thrones episode, episodes of Ballers and Room 104, and information about HBO’s financials and employees were all leaked.

Naturally, the news has stoked a lot of interest both from the media and fans who are doing all they can to avoid spoilers. However, in a statement to Variety Magazine, HBO is pretty clear that it’s pretty fed up of being asked for comment whenever new information about the hack breaks cover.

“We are not in communication with the hacker and we’re not going to comment every time a new piece of information is released, the network told Variety.

“It has been widely reported that there was a cyber incident at HBO. The hacker may continue to drop bits and pieces of stolen information in an attempt to generate media attention. That’s a game we’re not going to participate in,” it said.

“Obviously, no company wants their proprietary information stolen and released on the internet. Transparency with our employees, partners, and the creative talent that works with us has been our focus throughout this incident and will remain our focus as we move forward. This incident has not deterred us from ensuring HBO continues to do what we do best.”

In the meantime, if you don’t want anything spoiled for you in any of HBO’s upcoming shows, we present this handy guide. Yep, it might be time to close down social media for today.
