Hearthstone’s older sets that have been relegated to the Wild format can be purchased again but you’ll have to visit the Blizzard store to get your hands on them.
The Wild expansions available for purchase include Goblins vs Gnomes and The Grand Tournament. Players will also be able to purchase the adventures Curse of Naxxramas, League of Explorers and Blackrock Mountain.
Packs for The Grand Tournament and Goblins vs Gnomes will set you back as much as Standard packs starting at €2.99 (R46.93) for two packs and going up to €69.99 (R1 098.46) for 60 packs. Each pack is guaranteed to contain at least one rare card.
The adventures will cost you €24.99 (R392.20) with the exception of League of Explorers which costs €19.99 (R313.73).
Remember that the cards from these packs and adventures can only be used in Wild so don’t think you can use Dr. Boom to climb the Standard Ranked ladder.
Remember if you want Wild packs or adventures you must purchase them on Battle.net so you will have to spend real money rather than gold to get them but you will be able to open the packs in-game.
No more duplicate Legendary cards
Last month Blizzard announced that players would no longer receive duplicate Legendary cards when opening packs. Even better is that when you open new sets you are guaranteed to get a Legendary card.
Great news given that Knights of the Frozen Throne is with in spitting distance of release.
A number of users on Hearthpwn where we spotted this news have said that after testing on new accounts these changes are well and truly in effect.
This change also applies to the Hearthstone Welcome Pack which contains 10 Classic packs and a Legendary card.
As a bit of a special treat check in later today for the htxt.africast where myself and Nick Cowen take a look at some of the cards being released in the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion.
Oh and here’s Ben Brode rapping the story of Arthas, watch it at 1.25x speed if you want a real treat.
