Full trailer for The Disaster Artist drops

Back in July we came across the news that James Franco was helming a biopic about Tommy Wiseau’s classic slab of rubbish, The Room.

If you’ve never seen The Room, it’s largely recognised as the worst film ever made in the history of modern cinema, and as such has taken on a cult status large enough to warrant annual screenings.

Seriously, if you’ve never seen it, we urge you to seek it out, buy some beer and invite your friends round for a viewing. It’ll be the biggest laugh you’ve all had in ages.

But back to the topic at hand; following a brief teaser released two months ago, The Disaster Artist (Franco’s biopic) now has a full trailer. Feast your eyes on this, kids:

Those unfamiliar with Wiseau or his work may think that Franco is being spectacularly hammy in his portrayal of The Room’s director. We’re here to tell you that, no, in fact, Franco is bang on.

The trailer also contains a ton of scenes that cult members will instantly recognise (“good doggy”) but it’s unlikely they’ve been allowed to peak behind the curtain into the general madness that spawned one of their favourite films… until now.

The Disaster Artist was first screened at SXSW this year and a lot of critics have called it the best thing that Franco has ever done. We have to confess that we’re very much looking forward to seeing this train wreck about a train wreck when it hit screens in December later this year.
