MTN has rolled out LTE coverage to Rustenburg through the re-farming of existing spectrum in the region.
This means MTN customers in the area can now look forward to better connectivity on the network, including better web browsing, streaming, faster downloading and better coverage overall.
MTN says the move is part of its effort to optimise coverage in South Africa’s major cities. “Activation followed significant new site densification in Rustenburg in 2017 as well as deployment of UMTS900 to improve indoor 3G coverage,” MTN said.
“A Bozza network translates to faster download and upload speeds, clearer voice quality and ubiquitous coverage for our customers,” said Giovanni Chiarelli, Chief Information and Technology Officer: MTN South Africa.
“At the heart of our network rollout strategy is a commitment to provide high performing networks that cater to the digital boom and voice demands of our customers. I am thrilled at the rate at which we have expanded our LTE coverage and remain confident that our customers will reap the benefits of a seamless and world class network,” he added.
