Call of Duty WWII open beta drops later this month

Good news for PC gamers who enjoy Call of Duty – Sledgehammer Games has announced an open beta for the platform.

As you may be aware, players on Xbox and Playstation have already had the chance to play the game as part of a private multiplayer beta.

“We received a ton of great feedback and insights that we’re applying across the game on the road to launch. We’re also thankful for the open and constructive dialogue throughout the course of the Beta,” said Sledgehammer in a statement.

From 29th September through to 2nd October PC gamers will be able to play Call of Duty: WWII on Steam ahead of its November release.

While players are getting their first taste of the title, the beta will also serve as way for Sledgehammer to stress test its core systems and back-end infrastructure. The developer will also use feedback from the beta to optimise the PC version ahead of its release.

We’ve also got our hands on the minimum specifications needed to run the game but bear in mind that these specs are only for the beta and may change come November.

  • OS  Windows 7 64-bit or later
  • CPU Intel Core i3-3225 equivalent or better
  • RAM 8GB
  • Storage 25GB
  • Video NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB, or better
  • DirectX Version 11.0 compatible GPU or better

Naturally you will need a beefy internet connection to be able to play online.

Sledgehammer Games said it will release details regarding pre-loading the game closer to the beta.
