Before you see Blade Runner 2049, 3D print Deckard’s Blaster

Blade Runner 2049 is out in many parts of the world today, so let’s get the 3D printer going and make something from the original movie.

While we could make a Police Spinner or even an “origami” unicorn,  Deckard’s LAPD 2019 Blaster is a better choice.

This design was created by Andrew Forster and it comes with a lot of moving parts and small details. The triggers move, the barrel rotates and pops out, and there’s room for LEDs so it lights up appropriately.

We suggest this video by 3D Central to see what a finished version looks like. They managed to complete their print in a single day, so there’s a chance you could make a finished prop before any late-night showings of the movie.

To make your own start with the files over on MyMiniFactory which also included a detailed PDF with assembly instructions.

Since being uploaded to the site in 2015 many makers have had a try at printing their own, some of which you can see in the gallery below.
