Lenovo launches special 25th anniversary edition Thinkpad

When Richard Sapper designed the first Lenovo Thinkpad 25 years ago we don’t think he counted on seeing it becoming the notebook of choice for companies around the world.

Now Lenovo has announced that to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the notebook it will be releasing a limited edition Thinkpad.

The Thinkpad Anniversary Edition 25 borrows elements from the original notebook such as a seven-row keyboard and a multi-colour logo.

Thankfully Lenovo has made this notebook with 2017 users in mind.

Under the hood is an Intel Core i7-7500U and driving the 14inch Full HD (1920×1080) display is an NVIDIA GeForce 940MX.

“The next twenty-five years are an opportunity for new generations to discover the wonders of ThinkPad. As long as there are customer pain points, there will be a ThinkPad to fix them,” Lenovo president Gianfranco Lanci said.

We usually stay clear of calling a device “iconic” but the Thinkpad has very much earned that title over the years. If you don’t believe us check out some of the incredible things this unassuming notebook has accomplished such as giving Stephen Hawkings a voice, monitoring storms and more.

There’s no word yet on whether local buyers will be able to get their hands on a Lenovo Thinkpad Anniversary 25 or how much it will cost but once we know we’ll be sure to share the news.
