Russian cosmonauts record spacewalk in 360 degree video

Despite Elon Musk’s insistence that humans will be on Mars by 2024, many of us will probably never go to space which is why we have a way to take you there. Sort of.

Russian space agency Roscosmos together with Russian news outlet RT have released a video that features two cosmonauts – Sergey Ryazansky and Fyodor Yurchikhin – performing maintenance on the International Space Station.

While watching the video you might notice the two spacemen throwing what appears to be modules off of the ISS. This is not sabotage but rather the pair “launching” satellites.

A report by Engadget reveals that two of the satellites are known as Tanyusha and were built by students while a third was built by the city of Tomsk and broadcasts multilingual messages that can be heard by tuning into 437.025MHz and 437.05MHz.

The cosmonauts  spent about seven hours outside of the ISS but the three minute video that we got from it is positively jaw dropping.

And before you get bored and click away we’d highly recommend watching the video until the end to witness a timelapse of the Earth’s rotation.
