Dark Souls II compared to its 2013 gameplay reveal

YouTube channel CrowbCat is back with another comparison video about graphical downgrades, and Dark Souls II is the latest title to get the treatment.

If you’ve never heard of CrowbCat, they’ve become something of an industry watchdog pointing out the massive changes many games see when they release, compared to the much better looking promotional material we get beforehand.

It also compares negative changes over time, such as those that affected Team Fortress 2 and, on the other side, marks the rare case of improvements in DOOM 2016.

This video focuses on the 2013 gameplay reveal demo uploaded by IGN. The final game, running on PC at max settings is used for the comparison.

CrowbCat calls it “one of the most extreme cases of graphical downgrade that happened in the industry”. Watch it yourself below to see if you agree.
