Unplug your electronics, severe storms on the horizon

Residents in Gauteng, North West and parts of the Free State  should brace themselves for severe thunderstorms this afternoon.

The South African Weather Service has issued a special weather advisory that warns about heavy rain, damaging winds and hail. This could be due to a large weather system moving through the northern parts of the country.

A report by EWN also suggests that residents can expect thunderstorms to be prevalent as well.

For that reason you might want to unplug all of your electronics, especially those you got on sale at rAge at the weekend.

We’d also recommend not driving when the rains hit.

In 2016 engineers at the University of New South Wales found that a Toyota Yaris could be moved by water only 15cm deep moving at one metre per second.

Stay safe folks.
