Late online Gauteng school applications now open for #Admissions2018

Parents and guardians who missed the online early bird applications deadline for the Gauteng grades one and eight for their children, can now head over to the site and do so during the late applications window.

The window period is very short, ending on Friday 10th November, so parents need to get started with the process very quickly if they are to secure a place for 2018. No new applications will be accepted in January, the Gauteng Department of Education has said.

The application process works the same way it did with early bird applications. You can find all the information you need on how to go about that in our previous story.

According to the Department, the system is running without any glitches.

A total of 285 834 children needed placement in Gauteng schools. To date, a total of 222 378 representing 77% of all applicants have been placed. This figure is a sum total of 123 450 for Grade one and 98 928 for Grade eight pupils.

“The Department has plans to ensure that all applicants that applied on time are placed. We cannot thank enough the people of Gauteng for their overwhelming response to our call to utilise the online application system. Parents that have already applied and are awaiting placement must not re-apply. These parents must approach district offices for assistance,” said Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi.
